Counsellor

Loss & Bereavement, Trauma, Confidence & Self-Esteem

Hello, I’m Emma Dorrington, a registered counsellor offering counselling to adults and adolescents. In my experience, counselling can offer a calm and supportive space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what you’re feeling or going through. Whether you're navigating a specific difficulty or feeling generally stuck or overwhelmed, this space is yours—to be heard, to explore, and to find new ways of responding to life’s challenges.

If you’re considering taking this step, know that you don’t have to do it alone—and that support is here when you're ready. I work holistically from an integrative and person-centred foundation, tailoring each session to your individual needs. No two people are the same, and I believe counselling should reflect that. Depending on what feels most supportive for you, I may draw on elements of psychodynamic and narrative work, Gestalt principles, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based techniques, trauma-informed practices and cognitive behavioural approaches. I also incorporate solution-focused and strengths-based strategies where helpful. My aim is to offer a flexible, responsive space that supports your unique process.
